Dried and sliced Meadowsweet (scientific name: Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim).

Meadowsweet belongs to the rose family and is a perennial, herbaceous plant with red-brown stems. The flowers form large white panicles with a strong sweet scent. The plant can grow up to one and a half metres tall.

This herb is found almost everywhere in Europe and has been known for hundreds of years for its positive properties. An important constituent of meadowsweet is salicin or salicylic acid. The herb also contains many other valuable substances, such as calcium, potassium, iron, silicon, phosphorous, vitamins C and B.
